# Geographical distribution

{% hint style="success" %}
All French territories, both metropolitan and overseas, have opened data. Small, isolated municipalities have not hesitated to embark on open data with high-quality projects and data (Pirae, 14,000 inhabitants, in French Polynesia, or Monacia-d'Aullène, 550 inhabitants, in Southern Corsica, for example). The number of communities that have opened their data by region is mainly correlated to the number of communities of sufficient size in the selected regional areas. However, for equivalent territorial characteristics (same size and profile of the communities present), the age and permanence of the open data animation in certain regions make a real difference. Everyone is there, everyone is making progress, that's the main thing.
