Distribution of the number of organizations by technology

The major evolution observed in 2021, and confirmed in 2022, is the increase in the number of small municipalities that publish their data within the framework of thematic programs (e.g., Base Adresse Locale), that use both centralized production/publication tools (publish.etalab.studio) and that publish on a free and shared national portal, generally data.gouv.fr.

As a result, the data.gouv.fr portal is widely used by local governments (55% of cases, i.e., more than half) and the ongoing developments of this portal are extremely important and useful for enhancing the value of the data (quality control, data visualization, etc.) and the producing organizations (improved editorialization).
