# Analyze and understand the open data dynamics in the territories

## Project Summary

The objective of the Observatoire Open Data des Territoires is to provide precise information on the progress of open data in local authorities. It is intended for national and local public actors, observers, committed associations, researchers and economic agents. It helps to understand the situation and the dynamics of open data in the territories, and to adjust support actions to accelerate and structure the open data movement in France. Various synthetic indicators are developed from data collected regularly on publication platforms, they mainly concern :

* Local authorities publishing data in open data : Number, type (region, department, EPCI, commune), geographical distribution, size, ...
* Open data sets: number, date of publication, themes, access mode, quality, license,...
* Publication platforms: number, type (website, dedicated or shared portal), technical solution, carriers, themes, etc.
* Uses: Reuse (applications and datasets), traffic (number of downloads), animation and valorisation devices,...
* The Territorial Animation: Offers of accompaniment of the communities,...

## Project objectives

* To know precisely the situation of open data in the territories&#x20;

* The project is led by OpenDataFrance
* The project is carried out in partnership with the company multi for the cartographic interface (on the technical basis  [**Datami**](https://datami.multi.coop/?locale=fr)) and the [**FNCCR**](https://www.fnccr.asso.fr/)  for the curation of the technical platforms of publication
* The work of OpenDataFrance is supported by local authorities with the support of the State ([DINUM](https://www.numerique.gouv.fr/dinum/) and [ANCT](https://agence-cohesion-territoires.gouv.fr)) and de [Banque des Territoires](https://www.banquedesterritoires.fr).
